Lady Gaga & David Bowie
Lady Gaga on David Bowie "[He's] an icon in art,"
At age 4 Lady Gaga learned piano by ear, by age 13, she had written her first piano ballad. At 14, she played open mic nights at clubs such as New York’s the Bitter End and at the age of 17 was one of 20 kids in the world to get early admission to Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
Here is my list of reasons why I like her.
1. Star Wars reference in her video. (Ingredients in recipe)
4. She acknowledges the fact that her lyrics are shallow and inferior to that of artists such as Bowie.
5. She doesn't lip sync live.
6. She supports gay rights, something not many artists support to the extent she does.
7. Claims she was born in the wrong era and said "I'm quite sure that if it were 1968 I may not be the Lady GaGa that I am today. I might be arguing with Yoko Ono and trying to win John Lennon's heart and chasing The Beatles in a bus on LSD, hoping that one of them hands me a microphone one day."
8. She took her name from a Queen song.
9. She idolises David Bowie.

Clearly Bowie is God but I guess this was my attempt to show Lady Gaga in a different light. Maybe not but I think everyone should watch her acoustic version of Poker Face for AOL. That's what originally got me interested in her.

Lucille
A little before 1965 but still amazing.
Little Richard, Chuck Berry & B.B King are some of my favourite artists of all time.
I must admit part of the intrigue with Chuck Berry comes from the rumours about his sexual fetishes . Nothing greater than someone who is a bit of a freak in real life.
Greatest Chuck Berry song would have to be Memphis or My Ding-a-ling.
Elvis does a great cover of Memphis too.
My Ding-a-ling is one of my favourites for obvious reasons. Its one of those songs you could play to a child while subtly corrupting their mind and having a positive influence on their taste in music at the same time.
